Component Testing Services

Our component labs deliver everything from standard product qualification testing to advanced engineering evaluations, with integrated control and measurement of acceleration, load, displacement, temperature, flow, and more. We perform regulatory testing to meet standards from EPA, EU, ISO, CARB, EPA, CRF, SAE and other leading standards organizations.

Automotive Components

TRP component labs test a wide range of automotive parts and their components. From mufflers to manifolds, steering to suspensions – providing vehicle qualification, durability, and vibration testing using servo-hydraulic, electro-dynamic, and thermal systems. Standard or custom protocols are available to match your exact requirements.

Catalyst Aging

TRP catalyst aging services help significantly reduce catalyst testing time and costs utilizing advanced C-FOCAS® and Natural Gas Burner Technologies. We can simulate high-engine exhaust temperatures and maximum flow-rates with hot gas burners. We also provide burner manufacturing and engineering services to support your in-house aging programs.

Durability Testing

Durability testing is essential to ensure the reliability and safety of your automotive components. Our labs offer a wide range of durability and strength tests, including axial, bending, and cyclic fatigue testing, as well as drop, leak, vibration, and high-temperature evaluations – all designed to meet your performance and regulatory requirements.

Environmental Simulation

TRP’s environmental simulation testing replicates extreme operating conditions to evaluate product performance and reliability. We utilize thermal chambers with thermal shock and temperature cycling, integrated with servo-hydraulics, electrodynamic shakers, or pneumatics to conduct durability, fatigue, vibration, and life cycle testing.

Fuel Systems & Fuel Components

TRP provides comprehensive fuel component testing for the automotive, marine, and portable fuel container markets. We offer both standardized and custom test programs, including DVP&R and PVP&R protocols. Our labs perform vibration, durability, evaporative emissions, tensile, drop, burst, canister testing, fuel pump noise measurement, and more.

Permeation Testing

Permeation testing including mini- and micro-SHED systems for evaporative emissions measurements. Our labs works closely with the US Environmental Protection Agency EPA and the California Air Resources Board CARB on the development of new test procedures in the area.

Thermal / High Temperature Testing

Thermal cycling and heat aging tests expose your products to rapid temperature changes, identifying potential weaknesses, defects, or failures.  Our thermal laboratories test thermal cycling and analyse heat aging through in-house burner technologies with custom test cycles and can combine burner(s) with hydraulics or electrodynamic shakers for complex hot vibration or fatigue tests.

Vibration Testing

TRP’s vibration testing services utilize electro-dynamic (ED) shaker systems to evaluate components across the frequency domain at varying acceleration levels, replicating real-world vibration conditions. Our capabilities include sine, random, sine-on-random (SOR), sine-on-sine, field data replication, shock testing, and more. With over 20 years of experience, our engineers also provide custom fixture design and fabrication to support specialized test setups.
