Develop Better, Safer, More Durable Products with Vehicle Testing from TRP.

As an independent body, we can complement your existing testing program or undertake full vehicle testing services. We are actively involved in the development of new testing methods and standards, and are ideal partners for manufacturers who want to produce vehicles that are best in class for safety, reliability, durability and compliance.

Vehicle Development

  • Emissions labs – including environmental testing, catalyst efficiency determination, custom drive cycles and test procedures, as well as exhaust specification
  • Vehicle instrumentation, including exhaust sample ports, thermocouples, pressure transducers and data logging
  • Large cold soak room for cold start and sub-zero evaluation of products to -22°F (-30°C)
  • Mileage accumulation dynamometers (MAD), 2WD and AWD
  • Certification and specialty fuels in bulk tanks and drums

Exhaust Emission Certification

Evaporative Emissions Testing

  • Variable temperature SHEDs
  • US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and CARB Procedures

Environmental Testing at High Altitude and Extreme Temperatures

  • TRP Rocky Mountain Test Center
  • TRP Simulated Altitude Laboratories
    • Altitude simulation capable of testing 0 to 12,000 ft. (3660 m) above sea level
    • Combustion air temperatures may be set from 14º to 130°F (-10º to 54°C)

Electric Vehicle (EV) and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) Testing

TRP’s test facilities feature state-of-the-art AWD and 2WD chassis dynamometers, emissions sampling systems, battery management capabilities, and full vehicle thermal chambers. These resources support the road conditions and cycles needed for the development, integration, and certification of electric vehicles (EV) and hybrid vehicles (HEV).

Engine Testing

TRP features state-of-the-art laboratories equipped to perform engine testing under extreme environmental conditions at altitude and simulated altitudes using advanced technology. Our experts support everything from basic testing for small engines to custom-designed, complex tests for larger engines for automotive, marine and generator manufacturers.
