In his role at TRP Laboratories, Liew serves as liaison to OEMs, suppliers, and engineering organizations, guiding complex emissions certification and development programs across global regulatory frameworks. He plays a critical role in aligning advanced testing methodologies with evolving requirements from agencies such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB), helping customers achieve compliance efficiently, and with confidence.
Liew’s expertise spans the full emissions testing ecosystem—from laboratory operations and test cell design to data validation and regulatory strategy.
At TRP, he contributes to both customer programs and the advancement of the company’s integrated software platforms, bridging regulatory complexity with scalable, data-driven testing solutions.
Prior to joining TRP Laboratories, Liew built a distinguished career in the automotive and energy sectors, including leadership roles at Cummins Inc., where he led emissions laboratory compliance and supported global certification initiatives, and at the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory, where he managed large-scale carbon capture programs focused on reducing industrial emissions.
With a strong foundation in mechanical engineering and a proven track record in emissions research and advanced combustion technologies, Liew brings a systems-level perspective to today’s evolving powertrain landscape—including the integration of low-emission, hybrid, and alternative fuel technologies.
